The capital of India, Delhi, is known for its magnificent historical monuments, and of course, food. Yeah, you could almost say it’s the food capital too. Wanna know why? So, let’s dive right in, because I don’t know about you, but I’m starving.

1. Paratha

So, first thing in the morning, you crave a Paratha, an Indian homemade bread that is, if you’re not aware. New Delhi is famous for paratha, covered in ghee and butter, and the bread will melt right in your mouth.
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to venture out to Old Delhi, there is even a place called Parathe Wali Gali, which you can’t miss. It’s been a heaven for Paratha lovers. It is indeed an iconic New Delhi famous food.
2. Paneer Tikka

It’s been a famous Indian appetizer, where you use paneer, which is cottage cheese, and it is marinated using yogurt and spices. Finally, it is, grilled until it gets charred. Onion, bell peppers, along with tomatoes are used to prepare this dish.

The place is famous for its Indian cuisines, but the renowned butter chicken just can’t be missed.
4. Mutton Korma

It is a fabulous dish made by slowly cooking the mutton along with yogurt, spice powders, and whole spices, and this should be on your list if you’re looking for a New Delhi famous food.
Originally a Mughlai dish, it is incredibly popular. Karim’s, near the Jama Masjid in old Delhi, is famous for its version. This place was founded in 1913 and is exceptionally well known. It is a must-visit on your trip to Delhi.

Another New Delhi famous food, Biryani, is a rice dish, with a mix of saffron, meat, and a few other Mughlai spices that make it unlike anything else you’ve had before. It may also contain potato slices or boiled eggs as supplements. It is sufficient to say that people go crazy over Biryani because of the aroma it liberates and the unique taste it offers. However, caution should be exercised, and it should be bought from reputable places because of the harmful oils and artificial saffron so rampantly used in cheaper areas.

7. Chaat

It is a prevalent fast food in India, especially New Delhi. There are many varieties of chaat available.
1.Aloo Chaat
Aloo chaat is one of the most liked chats made with potatoes, as it is the primary ingredient. It also consists of sweet, sour, and spicy chutney and slices of different fruits, depending on the region. The most popular style of Aloo chaat is the Delhi style Aloo Chaat. 3.Pani Puri
Pani Puri or Phuchka, or Gupchup is an internationally famous fast food in India. It consists of a ball-shaped hollow crepe, which is deep-fried to a crisp. Accompanying the pani puri is imli water, or tamarind water, which is sour and a meethi water, which is sweet. A small hole is made in the crepe or puri and filled with a mashed potato mix, which has been treated with spices. A small amount of water is poured into this potato-filled puri and served immediately to the anxious crowd. It is also often served with chaat masala or chili. The process is pretty simple. You take paneer, mash it, and fry it, dip it in syrup for the whole package. It is denser and richer than your average roadside jalebi. It is often layered with silver paper, and then carefully garnished with nuts and dry fruits, like pistachio, almonds, as you wish.
