On May 29, 2023, ten tourists lost their life on the spot when their car collided with a private bus along a curve on the Mysore-Kollegal major route in the Mysuru district of Karnataka.
How Did the Accident Happen?
This unlikely scenario happened at about 2:15 p.m. According to resources, people in the car were traveling from Mysuru to the Male Mahadeshwara hills.
However, when they approached Pinjrapole Society in Kurubur village, the car driver lost control of the car and crashed into the bus.
According to the police, ten people were killed, and they were from the Ballard district and they had visited a tourist attraction in Mysuru.
The police also said that the majority of the deceased were middle-aged, while a few of them were children.
What Have the Police Said about this Accident?
Upon hearing of this mishap, T Narasipur police and fire service officers arrived at the scene and according to the initial investigations, there were four adults, one adolescent, three women, and two children in the car.
However, police have not yet verified the identities of the victims and moreover, this whole collision was captured by the dash camera equipped with the bus.
According to the police, it was difficult to count the precise number of people inside the automobile because the bodies were brutally crushed.
Additionally, police also commented that the car’s driver was speeding.
Also in the recorded video by the dash camera, it appears to be a head-on collision between the car and bus, and the car was destroyed by the force of the crash.
Nonetheless, the injured had been taken urgently to the nearest hospital.
What did President Murmu and PM Modi Say?
Both President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sadness over the fatal tragedy that took ten lives, including three children, in Mysuru.
President Murmu expressed her grief at the loss of life in a road accident in Mysuru, especially for the deaths of children on Twitter.

Our Prime Minister Modi also expressed his deep sorrow for the deaths of the victims and promised an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees for each of the victim’s close relatives and another ex-gratia of fifty thousand rupees for the injured.
According to the tweet from the Prime Minister’s Office, the PM sent his prayers for the injured people to recover quickly.

Compensation for the Victims
A while earlier, the CM of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah also tweeted that each family of the deceased would receive a compensation of two lakhs and also offered his sympathies to the families of those who perished in the accident.
He wrote in his tweet,
“Upset by the tragic accident that took ten lives close to T. Narasipura, Mysuru, The CM relief fund would pay the relatives of the dead a compensation of two lakh rupees. I have told those who are concerned to make sure the injured get the care they need“.
