Look around, everything you see is the end result of someone’s creativity. Even though you are able to read this article is because someone was creative and passionate to create this technology. Anita Alvares Bhatia is one of those creative people who inspires and changes people’s lives through their art and creativity.
She has a passion for capturing life’s moments, adores illustrating people, food, and engaging in reportage sketching. Her Instagram is a gallery where you can encounter many marvelous paintings and sketches.
Apart from her passion for painting and sketching, Anita exudes warmth and makes everyone around her comfortable with her thoughtful demeanour.
“I don’t Relate to People Who Prefer Work From Home”
Do you all remember what period in school you loved the most? Well, I do. Arts period was the period I used to wait in my school days and I’m sure most of you will relate to this. Anita Alva asres Bhatia is also one of those people.
But the difference is her paintings and sketches are something that everyone would love to look at. Even though she became a professional artist a few years ago, her love for it has been with her since she was a child.
“As a child, I was always interested in arts. I used to doodle on my neighbors’ walls and my notebooks. If we fast forward, after that I went into college and completed my graduation. After that I worked with a few advertising agencies. I also worked in a few fashion houses because I was always attracted to colors and fabric.”
At some point in life, we all have to leave behind what we love the most. Anita Alvares Bhatia also has been through this but she was lucky enough to find her way back to what she loves to do.
“For a while I got devoted to my home. But somehow, luckily, I found my way back to this field. Then I started exploring more aspects of arts like crafting, painting, water colors, and urban sketching.”
She finds urban sketching more exciting and interesting because as an artist she can just walk out of her house and start painting. “I don’t relate to people who prefer work from home. I love to explore the world.”
“Historical Places Attracts me” – Anita Bhatia
We all go on vacations and travel to the places we love to visit. During our journeys, we take a lot of pictures to make memories of those places.
But Anita’s way to capture the moments stands her out. “Recently, I went to Goa. I love to visit churches and any piece of historical importance. I always sketch when I travel, that’s my way to capture the moments. I happen to visit a church close to where I was staying”
The moment Anita took her steps into that church she was stunned with its beauty. Guess what she did? She requested to make sketches of the church and luckily got the permission.
“It was a 15th century old church. It was too beautiful, it was carved, it was golden in color. Somehow, I begged for permission to sketch that church. Luckily, I got permission and did a sketch of that place. Being in a 15th century’s church was just the most amazing spiritual experience of my life.”
“People Appreciating your Work is the Most Amazing Feeling in the World” – Anita Bhatia
Very few people in the world get the chance to showcase their talent to the world. Anita Alvares is one of those lucky people. But I feel luck plays a very little role and it requires a mixture of dedication and hardwork to turn your passion into a profession.
“One of my artwork is selected for the India Art Exhibition and Design Biennale organized by the Minister of Culture, Government of India. The exhibition will be held at the Red Fort, New Delhi, in December 2023. When I found out, I was just stunned with happiness. The feeling was very beautiful.”
This is not the first time Anita’s art work has been selected for an exhibition. But imagine visiting a place where you have never been before and that is to showcase your talent to the whole world.
“I have not visited Delhi and not seen the Red Fort. Visiting this historical place and that for the exhibition of my artwork is going to be an amazing experience. Standing besides my work and watching people seeing my work and appreciating it in a historic place like the Red Fort is a blessing.”
“My Goal is to Get Better and Better at my Work” – Anita Bhatia
If we all started doing what we love to do, the world will become a whole different place. Unfortunately, not many people get the chance to do this because of the responsibilities they have.
If you are lucky enough to make your career out of your passion, be grateful. Anita feels so blessed to do what she loves but that’s not it.
“Doing something that I love is a wholesome feeling but while doing it your goal should be to get better and better at your work. I love to challenge myself and try different things and techniques. It helps me master my skills. Also, I would love to exhibit at various places and win a few awards.”
Doesn’t matter what field you are in, if you are an artist, you have the power to shape the world through your art and inspire people around you.
“As an artist I feel that I have a responsibility and contribution to society. And I would like to continue the process of contribution. It’s my purpose of life or you could say it’s my window to the world.”
Anita Bhatia is a meticulous artist who invests her time in proper studies before starting the painting or sketching process. Her passion lies in creating art that resonates emotionally, forging a connection with all the people encountering her artworks.
She is fearless, talented, and truly committed to her work. Our society needs more women like her.
