Here is a delightful conversation with Pushkar Mehta on his journey as a digital marketer with Icy Tales.
Q) Could you tell us something about your childhood and growing years? What was your ambition back then?
Q) What drew you to the digital marketing field?
Pushkar Mehta: Creating content and learning content writing were enjoyable experiences for me. If I can sum up in one sentence, I was curious to know everything that led me to learn about digital marketing. My curiosity led me to learn more about SEO and Adsense. The more I explored Instagram, the more I learned about the factors other than the actual posting of photos and the algorithm.
Q) How do you keep up with trends in digital marketing?
Pushkar Mehta: Content writers, SEOs, and digital marketers who create informative content reels and posts are people I follow. Previously, I would search on Google to find out about them, but now I follow these people on Instagram. They constantly post quality and informative content, which allows me to learn something new every day. That’s how I stay on top of digital marketing trends. Following personal contacts won’t help much for me to grow my business.
Q) What is your philosophy for staying inspired at work?
Pushkar Mehta: To stay inspired at work, I only have one philosophy: making money and getting more knowledge in my field of digital marketing.
Q) There are so many Digital Marketing agencies, and Solopreneur has a lot of competition. What stands out and makes ‘The Solopreneur’ unique?
Pushkar Mehta: Creativity makes us unique! The primary reason is if I work on the market research for the marketing agencies around us. I would target the local audience around me for my agency at the initial stage. When we were doing the market research in the nearby areas, we figured that the marketing agencies would get the audience towards social media marketing. The two major sectors are Ludhiana and Chandigarh, which I am looking for.
The marketing agencies will not use any creativity; they will not be using any organic strategies. They will ask for a hefty amount for doing social media marketing. Those agencies do not provide content engagement and organic strategies and do not focus on creating content, so they ask for a hefty amount.
The other digital marketing agencies will take the customers in a loop. They will create the post, put the ad money, and start the ad camping; no organic reach has been provided to the profile, and there is no surety that the ad is reaching the organic target audience.
This was where I thought I could help the clients by personally creating organic strategies and implementing them. I can create engagement strategies can create creative content. My pricing strategy is also affordable, not very high because we target the local audience. These were the kind of USPs in my mind while researching.
When it comes to The Solopreneur, we were only charging for the services and not the paid campaigns to the local vendors and business owners, who are still with us. We were focused on providing the results in an organic manner which was constantly increasing. Our transparency with our clients made us stand out from the crowd. That’s where The Solopreneur cleared out the competition.
Q) How do you deal with setbacks in your work?
Pushkar Mehta: We all experience setbacks from time to time. When I’m able to close a deal, I’ll be on the 7th cloud, but there are days when I don’t close a deal in the day that makes me feel sad. To avoid setbacks or never have a day in my life, I work on my brand. When my personal comes in, I can generate three to five leads daily.
Previously one of the major setbacks was I was unable to manage my work. Currently, we have 45 clients on board, and I was unable to manage my work; the management work is all from my side; I am the person dealing with all the clients. One suggestion I got from my friend is the AIR Table, and it is CRM (customer relationship management); now, my work is easily managed.
Q) Could you please tell us about your experience with collaborating with other creatives for digital marketing campaigns?
Pushkar Mehta The collaborations are changing over time. Previously, the collaborations happened during the live sessions, and we do the collaborations via Instagram live. Now there are ways to collaborate. For example, making a collaborative post, an Instagram features inviting a collaborator.
I used the collaboration strategy for my other startup, which is the gaming which is APK.BYTE. When I made the first post, I used the collaborative strategy; what I did was I used the feature of collaboration from my account to the gaming account. With the help of this strategy, I gained 25 followers on my first post.
Previously I used to be very shy about the collaborative thing. Now I understand that we need to collaborate to grow in digital marketing and the digital era. We need to take care of only one thing we are collaborating with the right person and at the right time.
Q) Content writing, at times, can be downright monotonous. What are the ways through which you can dispel boredom while writing content?
Pushkar Mehta: In content writing, the first thing that comes to our mind is the niche part. When we talked about solopreneurs, what we have done is we have content writers from all niches. To dispel the boredom thing, I do take breaks, and I create memes.
Pushkar Mehta is a passionate digital marketer and content writer. He, as a person, aims to achieve heights and deliver satisfactory outputs and work with many more companies in the future. We wish him success in all his ongoing and upcoming ventures.
