Q) What exactly does a health coach do? How is it different from a doctor?
Neha Ranglani – A health coach focuses more on food, lifestyle, and other aspects of a person’s life like stress management, sleep management and mindset. We don’t rely on medication to help people heal and improve their health. We depend on medication only for severe and acute conditions, but we try to go for natural ways for lifestyle conditions.
Q) What are your coaching styles and methods?
Neha Ranglani – There are no techniques or methods. As I understand the person’s complete history, then based on that, whichever area of their life has a problem, we do coaching for that. We counsel them and give them tools to improve that aspect of life. For instance, if someone is going through stress, we help them with stress management techniques.
Q) According to you, what should be the focus of a health coach?
Neha Ranglani- Focus should be on the overall development and health of a person, not on just one aspect.
Q) What is the reboot series?
Neha Ranglani – Reboot series is the series of books that I have written. They include two books for the time: breakfast reboot and beverage reboot. The content of the books includes the right ways to eat and drink and recipes for breakfast and beverages that are vegan, gluten-free and healthy. They are recipe guides.
Q) How can we eliminate junk food from our lifestyle?
Neha Ranglani- Make a list of how much and what type of junk you eat in a day, then try to replace them with healthier alternatives and reduce the intake of those foods. For instance, instead of eating 3 biscuits, eat one fruit and one biscuit, which is healthier. By this, you can change your junk food habits and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
Q) According to you, what are the primary health issues that are rising and what should people do to prevent themselves from the same?
Neha Ranglani- The main reason the health issues are arising is a lack of awareness and consciousness and not managing stress efficiently. Most problems arise from impaired mental health and unhealed emotions. Your stress significantly affects how food and everything else works in your body. So it’s crucial to check your mental health, work on your stress levels and adopt meditation and a yoga-centric lifestyle.
Q) Tell us something about your journey and any essential experience that taught you something?
Neha Ranglani- My journey started 14 years back. I was a basic nutritionist back then. Through the process, I learned a lot of things about how the body works and how it does not merely depend on food. From experience, I absorbed that when you feed your body the right thing and honour your body, then in exchange, your body also does the right things for you. Your health depends on so many other factors. And from there, I sensed a calling and turned vegan from a hardcore non-vegetarian. Turning vegan proved to be very righteous for my health and career. It even helped me in my spiritual growth.
Q) People have become very cautious with all the keto diet or gluten-free meals. Do you think such diets are essential to keep yourself healthy?
Neha Ranglani- Frankly, keto is not something of my belief. I don’t believe in keto and general motors diet because they are very stringent and affect the person’s health. But gluten-free diets and veganism depend if a person has celiac issues and allergies, then it makes sense.
Q) Your Instagram is a complete package of information about nutrition which is very interesting; according to you, how has social media helped your career as a nutritionist?
Neha Ranglani- Social media has dramatically helped me improve my reach. It allowed me to spread authentic health information to people and guide people through my reels, posts and messages. I am very grateful to social media for allowing me to have a voice.
Q) Nowadays, every health expert or nutritionist has something different to advise to lead a healthy life. Do you think it confuses people more when it comes to correct nutritional information?
Neha Ranglani- There is a lot of confusion because people follow and read anything. If you follow a health coach or a professional and do it correctly, it is healthier. More than that, you need accountability and someone to keep a check on you regularly; that’s why a health coach is significant in your journey.
Q) What is your motivation to stay fit and eat well? Any tips on the same?
Neha Ranglani- My motivation is to feed my body healthily and nourish it well. The motivation is to take care of your body because it’s a precious temple you live in. It comes from within that you need to ensure that your body is well-fed and taken care of.
