1. Relevance of the Tweet
Shri Narendra Modi has remarked on the berthing of INS Vikrant at Karwar.
At Karwar, an Aircraft pier has been constructed recently and this is the first time INS Vikrant, an aircraft carrier built in India has been berthed there.
This pier has been built under Project Sea.

The aim of this construction as well as the project is to improve the capacity of ship-berthing at the Karwar base and INS Vikrant would also be an essential player to ensure stability and peace in the Indo-Pacific region.
1.1 About Shri Narendra Modi
Narendra Damodardas Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of India and he has also launched several programs like Make in India, the Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan, and others to help India achieve new heights.
His remark on the berthing of INS Vikrant carries a lot of significance as it is a step in achieving good foreign relations as well as promoting the expansion of manufacturing in India.
2. INS Vikrant
INS Vikrant was constructed by Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kerala which is one of the largest shipbuilding and maintenance facilities in India, is also known as IAC-1 and more than 20 thousand crores are the estimated cost of this aircraft carrier.
Also, INS Vikrant was launched on 12th August 2013 and was commissioned on 2 September 2022.
However, it is the first aircraft carrier to be built in India and additionally the carrier recently received a bell that was installed on the carrier decommissioned in 1977.
3. Project Seabird: What is it About?
Project Seabird is also known as Naval Base Karwar or INS Kadamba. Moreover, it is the third-largest naval base in India as of now.
The first stage of this base’s construction was finished in 2005 and it is expected that with the completion of future stages, it will become the largest naval base in the eastern hemisphere. The Navy has called this incident a landmark.
The duty to manage the project seabird has been given to AECOM which was founded on 6th April 1990. There are many challenges involved in this project and one of the major challenges is to acquire environmental clearances.
4. Free and Stable Indo-Pacific: Importance
If there is an absence of monopoly in the region and the region stays together then it can help in preventing the rule of any one particular International state in the Indo-Pacific.
However, this would also help to prevent the accumulation of power over trade routes which are important for the development of the economy.
Achieving stability in the Indo-Pacific would also require the elimination of the threat of terrorism and the achievement of maritime security.
