Some good movies and some extraordinary movies, definitely, made our year. With movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Piku, and Bajirao Mastani, Bollywood was successful in keeping us entertained this year. Let us count on some stars that left us no other option than going crazy for them.
Here is the list of top 5 Bollywood Performances of 2015.
This gorgeous lady stole our hearts this season. With movies like Piku, Bajirao Mastani, and Tamasha, she did make this year a celebration with her excellent performances in her movies. Shoojit Sircar’s Piku, one of the finest films of the year, is about the wonderful and practical dad-daughter relationship in real life. It also portrays the strength of a girl and her ability to survive without a so-called support ‘Marriage’. SLB’s Bajirao Mastani, as all we know, is a grand success and the warrior princess in the movie deserves a standing ovation. Apart from being the love of the Maratha General, this woman overpowered every other character in the movie. During her interview, she said that it was her designer and all credit goes to her in making her feel like a princess, as it reflected very well. Anju Modi made Mastani, a warrior princess and elegant, simultaneously. In Tamasha, Imtiaz Ali tried to make the Ranbir-Deepika magic and yes, more than the movie, despite Ranbir stealing more space, we all loved Tara in this theatrical attempt at exploring love and life. My Choice!! We call it, intense excellence! So, Deepika dear, you deserve the first rank badge.
Ah! Look at that elegance!
And our Bhaijaan gave us a movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘, equal to 100 good films, and kept us in love with him all year. Kabir Khan directed this movie and the casting became special with Salman Khan, Harshali Malhotra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles. This is a simple story that actually moves you. The plot revolves around a man and a kid who accidentally loses herself in India and how he gets the mute young girl back to her place with a magnanimous spirit. The biggest weapon in the movie is the angelic Harshali. Salman plays Bajrangi with aplomb. He’s endearingly naïve and sweetly vulnerable. This Khan’s film for a Khan will definitely move you! There are sequences where our hero gets beaten *wiping tears*. No unnecessary heroism and good content make it a must watch. Next comes the movie ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. I have no idea why Salman signed the movie, but we all loved his performance.
Selfie le le!
Here comes the guy with 200 characters inside his head. When it comes to his performances, he is unbelievably excellent. His recent success as the Maratha General Bajirao stands an apparent example to the same. The story showcases the love of Bajirao and a Muslim Warrior Princess Mastani. In the fight sequences, his acting as a warrior deserves huge applause. In the Bhansali tradition, the movie is a stepping stone in his career as a promising actor. With loads of awards in his locker, that his first film fetched, he has bagged the Best Actor Award in the Star Guild Award ceremony recently for Bajirao Mastani. And yes! The Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ramleela magic worked out absolutely. His performance in Dil Dhadakne Do also earned him appreciation but very less. His last film, after Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ramleela, has highlighted the excellent actor in him!
With good looks!
This girl with a rocking performance in her last movie ABCD 2 definitely deserves a place. The super cute Shraddha Kapoor made us go wow with her dancing skills in Remo D’Souza’s Anybody Can Dance 2. During the rehearsal, she had also faced an injury yet makes it up to the level with her performance in the movie. As far as the performances are concerned, the film undoubtedly belongs to the lead pair – Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. Shraddha is so sincere and impresses immensely with her brilliant dancing skills and her chemistry with the male lead. Her moves, especially in Sun Saathiya song, will keep you at the edge of your seat and the music, composed by Sachin Jigar is a delight and a big plus to the movie. Her energetic performance received accolades from her friends in the industry, say, Alia, Tiger, Ranveer and even Ayan Mukherjee.
Where there is best performance list, there is Priyanka Chopra, always mesmerizing us with excellent performances, despite the role provided. She just fits in so perfectly, from a young enthusiastic girl Ayesha in Dil Dhadakne Do to a hurt wife Kashibai Bajirao in the latest hit Bajirao Mastani. She is eloquent more with her expressions than her words. Her body language helps portray so much and deserves much praise in Dil Dhadakne Do. When it comes to the other one, she says that she was very happy to do a role that was left unnoticed in the history. When Bajirao fell for Mastani, the first person to face all the loss was Kashibai and PeeCee is happy that she has performed such a role and well, that has come out better than we expected.
With shining performances, we hope 2016 will bring more astonishing performances to the industry and be a visual treat to us as well.
