It is a poem on how to start living your life all over again despite all the countless odds that life has to offer to us.
To love and not to get it back,
To hold back what you want to say,
To cry alone in the darkest rooms,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To bear with things that tear you apart,
To throw your only dream away,
To feel so broken and dull inside,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To have no one besides yourself,
To walk the same path each day,
To let go of things you once loved,
It’s never been easy, and it never is easy.
To repent all the wrong, you’ve done,
To regret choosing the incorrect way,
To find yourself no longer at peace,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To scream and hear it echo,
To realize what prices you had to pay,
To rise each morning with guilt,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To try and live up to others’ expectations,
To gather all the broken pieces,
To fail each time in being better,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To put on a happy face each time,
To smile and say, “I’m okay.”
To reveal the reality before the mirror,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To be close to quitting but somehow never quitting,
To see things change to your dismay,
To feel dejected as every second passes,
It’s never been easy; it never is.
To have wounds but no cure,
To paint your past all black and grey,
To try so hard to hide the pain,
It’s never been easy, it never is,
If you choose to live again,
When the hell breaks loose but you carry on anyway,
Your past can have a better future.
