Whenever you start liking somebody, everything around you feels like a romantic movie, but have you ever wondered that you may be falling for the wrong one?
You may likely be falling for the wrong one. Things feel different when you are in love. Everything around you changes, and you think that you are going to spend the rest of your life with that person.
You fall in love, and more often than not, you fall in love more than once. You meet a different set of people, and you change yourself with time. It is never wrong to fall in love, but what hurts the most is falling for the wrong one.
Signs You Are Falling for The Wrong One
Do you want to know if you have been ignoring certain red flags, or maybe you are falling for the wrong one or even getting married to the wrong person? Listed below are some of the signs that you may be falling for the wrong one.
1. You Become Completely Dependent on Them
This is one of the signs you are falling for the wrong one. You tend to be extremely dependent on them. At first, it seems all bubbly and cute, but over the period, it gets exhausting and tiring. You find yourself running to them all the time, and somehow the chase never ends.
You become so dependent on them that whenever you feel the slightest bit of emotion, you want to share it with that person only.
Whenever you are sad, you expect them to brighten up your day. Whenever you cry, you want them to wipe your tears. Whenever you feel anxious, you expect them to hold you tight and tell you that everything will be all right.

What you need to know is the fact that it is okay to be emotionally invested in someone. Still, it is not okay to be so emotionally dependent that you cannot control your emotions at all.
2. You Do Not Receive the Same Efforts that You Give
If you are falling for the wrong one, then you must have noticed that you are the one putting all the efforts, and this is one sign that you must not ignore at any cost.
What is love? When two people have feelings for each other that they do not have for anyone else. When you are willing to put effort and receive the same in return, that is what love is.
There is no way that you both have to put equal efforts all the time. Love is not about putting in 50-50 efforts all the time. Sometimes you give 80% of the effort, and the other person gives 20%. Other times, the other person gives in 80%, and you give 20%, and the number of efforts keeps changing. The fact remains that you must receive the efforts that you give.

You may find yourself doing all the things for them that they would never do for you. It seems as if you are the only one trying to make your partner happy and supporting them, but when you need them, they are nowhere.
This is time you must realize that you are falling for the wrong one because the right one would never do that.
3. You Forget About Your Self-Esteem
When you forget about your self-esteem, you must realize that you are falling for the wrong one. You will find yourself always apologizing for the problems that they have made you go through.
They will blame you for everything. They will never accept their mistakes, but instead, they will make you feel guilty for talking about things that hurt you.
That is when you must realize that you are falling for the wrong one. You find yourself losing your self-esteem while you are with him. No matter how many times he may hurt your feelings or make you unhappy, you will find yourself apologizing every single time.
They may ignore you or stop talking to you for a long time, and you are the one that goes to them every time to mend things and give them another chance to hurt you again. This is the way it feels to be falling for the wrong one.

They may say hurtful things to you, and even then, you tend to forgive them even when they do not apologize. You forget that you have your self-esteem and self-respect. When you are with the right person, they will respect you as much as you appreciate them.
They will never keep your respect at stake just to protect theirs when you find yourself continually asking for their connection; that is when you should know that you are falling for the wrong one.
4. You Overlook Their Mistakes
Everybody makes mistakes. No one in this world does not accept his mistake except the wrong person that you are in love with.
Making mistakes is not illegal, but blaming others for your doing and getting mad at them is wrong. When you are falling for the wrong one, you will realize that they make the same mistakes over and over again.
You initiate all the tough talks just to keep your relationship alive but tend to overlook the bad and even not talk about it only to maintain a healthy relationship.
Love with the wrong person can make you feel emotionally exhausted since it’s only one party trying to keep the relationship alive.
You will find yourself overlooking whatever they do or just ignoring it. You start making excuses for what they do. You think maybe their intentions are not wrong, or perhaps that is how their personality is.

Of course, you cannot change them if they do not want to improve themselves, but overlooking their mistakes and what they make you go through is equally wrong on your part.
If you feel hesitant to share the reasons why they are hurting you and even after sharing it with them, they do not understand you but instead start a fight with you, then you must realize that you are falling for the wrong one.
5. You Become Insecure
People may have insecurities which they may or may not like to share. Vulnerabilities do not make you weak, but when you have someone who always reminds you of it, then it is a sign that you are falling for the wrong one. You will find yourself doubting and thinking about what went wrong on your part.
You may look at yourself and think that you are not worthy enough for anything. You may feel that you are not good-looking, too skinny, too fat, too tall, or too short. These insecurities haunt you always when you are falling for the wrong one.
Especially a long-distance relationship makes spending time together difficult, and you constantly start comparing yourself to every one of their socials.
You will be unhappy about going in front of the mirror and not liking what you see. You will change yourself and your appearance just to seem likable to them. You will always think of the ways that would please them. If they say that they like the color blue, you will wear blue if they say that they do not like long hair, then you will cut it short.
You go beyond boundaries so that you can please them. You do whatever is possible for you to get their attention. Something that you tend to forget when you are in love is that you need to be accepted the way you are. You may think that you have flaws, but the right one will encourage you and make you realize just how worthy you are.

You will be loved for all your flaws, but when you are falling for the wrong one, they will tell you they do not like the way you look or make you count the flaws that you have.
They will manipulate you into thinking that you need to change yourself just to be accepted by them. Even after you adjust for them, they will not be happy. They will still find ways to pull you down. That is why the first person you should always love is yourself.
6. You Are Sad All the Time
Have you wondered why you are sad all the time? That is because you are falling for the wrong one. When you fall in love with the wrong person, you will find yourself being sad always. You will see that deep within, you are not happy anymore. You smile just because people are around you. You laugh just because people are looking at you.
Deep inside, you are always sad and always doubting yourself. You think that your happiness lies with the person you are in love with.
You think that you will never be happy if they are not around you. You always prefer to be on your own and just curl up into a ball and cry over things. You may find yourself relating these incidents with your past and thinking that all that is happening may be a result of that gut feeling.
You always blame yourself and think that it is your fault that the relationship is not going the way you had anticipated. That is the time when you just do not know what went wrong and feel puzzled as to what you can do to make things right. They may enjoy their lives and not care about what you may be going through.

They may just not see how hurt you are, and you are out there sobbing and blaming yourself for everything.
All this may happen, but sooner or later, you must realize that you are not to be blamed because every coin has two sides, and when you are sad, it is because they hurt you and not because it is your fault.
7. You Are Always Alone
When you are falling for the wrong one, you will often find yourself being alone. You may distance yourself from your friends and family.
You make that one person your friend and your soul mate. You see everything in them. You prefer to stay away from your friends and family because you have to make sure that you are giving your full undivided attention to this one person that you are in love with.
They may keep all their friends close to them. They may hang out and have fun with their friends all the time and forget that you even exist. You will be left out there all alone and not want to speak to anybody at all. You think that if you do not get their attention, then you do not need anybody else’s attention. Their love and affection are all that you need.
8. They Are All You Think About
Have you found yourself constantly daydreaming about that person you have fallen in love with? That is because your entire world revolves around them. You make up scenarios in your head that may never happen.
No matter what you are doing, they will continuously be on your mind. It is not wrong to think about the person you are in love with, but when you cannot see anything or anyone except them, then you should know that it is a sign that you are falling for the wrong one.
Everything that you do is associated with them. Every dress that you wear, every book that you read or every place that you go is always related to them.

Even when you are with your friends, they are all you think about. You will constantly talk about them and how things would be better if you were with them.
You will think about what to do and what not to do and whether or not they will like what you did. You will always put their happiness before theirs.
You will find yourself being flexible with whatever they do or say. If they ask you to meet, you will meet even if you have something more important lined up.
You make them your priority while you are not theirs. You will always prioritize their happiness before yours. You will always do as they say. This is not a good sign and something which you must not ignore for sure. You can make them your priority, but you must put yourself first before anyone else.
It is not wrong to be in love with someone. Loving someone can be one of the most beautiful feelings in the entire world. You must know that not everyone is going to be the right fit for you. If you find yourself being unhappy, then it is something you should never ignore.
These were some of the signs you are falling for the wrong one. Are there any more red signals that you must never ignore? Do let us know in the comments below.
