On September 29, 1888, 8.30 PM Catherine Eddow was found lying drunk on Aldgate high street. She was taken into police custody and was released at 12.55 AM when she was completely sober. While leaving, she signed under a fake name Mary Kelley.
On the same night, Catherine was murdered by Jack the Ripper. He went on to murder another woman whose name was Mary Kelley. This incident is one of the top 10 coincidences in history undoubtedly.

10. The Russian Spy
Author Norman Mailer wrote a novel called Barbary Shore, which had a minor character of a Russian spy. As he kept writing, the character of the Russian spy grew more prominent and as one of the crucial figures of the novel.
After the completion of the novel, the US Immigration service arrested a Russian spy who lived just one floor above Norman mailer’s house. The name of the spy was Colonel Rudolf Abel.

- Abraham Lincoln’s kid was saved from death by John Wilkes Booth’s brother. Long before the terrible day in April 1865, John Wilkes Booth and Abraham Lincoln apparently had a strange family connection. Edwin Booth, Booth’s brother, was a well-known stage actor who fought for the Union during the Civil War. Lincoln’s son, Robert Todd Lincoln, leaned up against a halted train in a New Jersey railroad station, nearly tumbling down the tracks as it restarted. Edwin Booth snatched him by the collar and pulled him to safety barely in time. The younger Lincoln recognized his hero and wrote about the episode, but John Wilkes Booth didn’t find out who he had saved until years later.
- Political rivals Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died just hours apart on July 4th. Former presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams’ relationship had many ups and downs throughout the years. They began as comrades, but as their political views diverged, they became adversaries. As the last two surviving members of the British Empire’s American revolutionaries, they finally reconciled and corresponded by letter until their deaths. They died just hours apart on the same day in 1826, on the Fourth of July, no less.
- Violet Jessop was a nurse and ocean liner stewardess who got the moniker “Miss Unsinkable” after surviving both the Titanic disaster in 1912 and the HMHS Britannic disaster in 1916. Jessup was also said to be on board a third boat, the RMS Olympic, when it collided with a warship—fortunately, the Olympic remained afloat.
